The Bishop of Catholic diocese of Yola, Stephen Dami Mamza has secured the release of Five inmates from the Nigerian Correctional center Yola in the spirit of Easter.
According to the Bishop, the season radiates love, mercy and compassion upon mankind by God Himself hence the decision to follow suit.
Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza who also donated food items, toiletries and drugs among others as a way of cushioning the effects of the harsh economy for the incarcerated Nigerians
His resolve to extend the hand of fellowship by guaranteeing the release of the said inmates is in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ that love for one another must be practiced religious background notwithstanding
Responding to the gesture, Officer in charge of the Yola New Correctional center appreciated the Catholic Bishop for the gesture and called on other Nigerians to emulate his kindness.
In his appreciation, one of the released inmates Lazarus Simon who spoke on behalf of the other four, promised to turn a new leaf.
