Plateau state Government says it will not leave anything to chance in ensuring that flooding is prevented in the year 2024 unlike previous years where the impact was devastating.
This was made known during flag-off of the desilting of drainage system within Jos-Bukuru metropolis ahead of the raining season.
The initiative by the Plateau State Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency had an immediate effect, as residents and property owners near the drainage joined hands with the government.
The aim of the move is not just to prevent flooding but also to make the state capital clean and beautiful, as the soil removed from the drains will be used to grow flowers at the centre of the roads.
