Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to steering progress and development despite the daunting task of addressing a substantial debt burden inherited from the previous administration, totaling 587 million dollars.

In a recent town hall meeting, Uba Sani disclosed that this significant debt burden is substantially impacting the state’s Federal Allocation.

The town hall meeting provided Governor Uba Sani the platform to deliver a comprehensive account of his administration’s stewardship over the past 10 months, shedding light on both achievements and challenges facing the state.

Governor Sani revealed that his administration inherited a substantial debt burden of 587 million dollars, 85 billion Naira, and 115 Contractual Liabilities from the previous administration, describing it as a significant impediment to the state’s progress.

The governor elaborated that despite receiving 10 billion Naira from federal allocations, a staggering 7 billion Naira is being deducted to service the inherited debts.

However, amid these financial challenges, Governor Sani expressed unwavering optimism and determination, emphasizing that his administration has abstained from borrowing any additional funds.

Participants commended the governor for his inclusive approach in governance, recognizing his efforts to involve all stakeholders despite the prevailing challenges.

Governor Sani reiterated his commitment to investing in human capital and stimulating the state’s economy, pledging to tirelessly work towards realizing the collective aspirations of the people of Kaduna.
