Nigerian aquatic competitor, Dare Akinrodoye popularly called “Coach Dreh” has completed the daring task of swimming the entire 11-kilometre stretch of the Third Mainland Bridge Lagos.
Coach Dreh whose aim was to raise awareness on mental health issues among the youths embarked on the task in the early hours of Saturday, March 30, 2024.
He swam the whole length of the bridge from Oworonshoki to Adeniji Adele for 2 hours 33 minutes non-stop to complete the challenge.
Though the swimming enthusiast was pulled out of the water looking physically exhausted he expressed satisfaction to have completed the task.
The swimmer had taken to his Instagram page to announce he would be swimming the whole length of the bridge to extend warm gesture to people battling mental health issues and suicidal thoughts.
Dare Akinrodoye had met with the Lagos State Government through the State Ministry of Youth and Social Development before embarking on the task.
All through the challenge, health and security experts were on ground to monitor the exercise.
