Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Olanipekun Olukoyede has commended members of the Nigerian Armed Forces for their gallantry, patriotism and sacrifices in the fight against insecurity across the country.
Olukoyede was speaking in Abuja while receiving students of the Departments of Intelligence, Security Science and Cyber Security of the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA Kaduna, who came on a study tour of the Commission to acquaint the cadets with the necessary knowledge needed in intelligence operations.
EFCC Chairman represented by Secretary to the Commission, Mohammed Hammajoda, urged the NDA to continue to invest in training and retraining of its officers in intelligence gathering to enable them meet the challenges posed by cyber insecurity and associated crimes. He charged the visiting cadets to imbibe the courage and patriotism of serving officers of the Nigerian military in order to justify the national investment on them.
EFCC’s Director of Information Communication Technology, Isha Abdullahi, urged the NDA to invest more in ICT and get more acquainted with advanced technology in the digital world adding that the fight against corruption and cybercrime is a task for every Nigerian and not the EFCC alone.
The cadets were also given lectures on Positive Use of Social Media, Intelligence, Cyber Security and Cybercrime
