The Kaduna State government has initiated the distribution of palliatives to communities affected by banditry and other forms of insecurity in the state.
The government said that the distribution fulfills a promise made to alleviate the plight of the vulnerable in the state.
The distributed palliatives in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria, include two trucks of processed maize flour and rice.
At least five hundred and fifty-one communities, comprising 289,375 displaced persons affected by banditry and other forms of insecurity across twelve local government areas of Kaduna State, will benefit from this initiative.
Barrister James Kanyim, representing Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe, flagged off the exercise, saying that the government’s commitment to promptly providing palliatives is in recognition of the urgent need to support citizens affected by insecurity.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the state government for its timely intervention.
It is worth recalling that the Kaduna State government has established a committee for the resettlement of communities affected by insecurity in southern Kaduna.
