Protest by workers at the Headquarters of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, has gone violent as alleged hired thugs make efforts to set ablaze vehicles of the protesting members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, led by its President, Ayuba Wabba.

The hired thugs are suspected to be members of an affiliate of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, led by the General Secretary of the Senior Staff Association of Corporations and Government-Owned Companies, SSASCGOC, Ayo Olorunfemi, who were preventing the NLC members from accessing the CAC.

They displayed banners describing NLC unions as, “defrauding clients.”

For now, activities have been crippled at the CAC HQ, with potential clients for company registration remained stranded outside.

Among the issues being raised by the NLC is that of the CAC management undermining the workers’ rights.
