More Nigerians are worried over the present state of insecurity in the country. Those who spoke to ait.live frowned at what they tagged politicising of the Nation’s security architecture which is the reason for the rise in crime and criminality.
Banditry and other related crimes in the last few months have continued to spread like wildfire across the six geo-political zones of the country.
A situation many attributes to the uncontrolled activities of criminals who go about in the guise of herders and now take refuge in forests and bushes across the country in possession of all manner of sophisticated weapons which they use most times to perpetrate various crimes including kidnapping, robbery on highways and forceful invasion of communities especially in the Northern part of the country in order to conquer and occupy territories.
To some Nigerians it appears the federal government is treating the matter with kid gloves as no commensurate action has been taking to lay this menace permently to rest.

While speaking on the contact established between the bandits and the Islamic cleric Sheik Gunmi, they called on the Federal government to do the needful as they are no longer faceless adding that any attempt to go into any amnesty deals with these criminals they described as invaders will further worsen the fragile peaceful coexistence among various ethnic groups in the country.
They however called for a more community oriented security set up as a way of fighting insurgency and external invasion.
