91-year-old traditional ruler of Kunduru in Kankia Area Council Of Katsina State, Ibrahim Kunduru has regained freedom, after spending about five days in the kidnappers’ den.
The monarch, who is the father of a Permanent Secretary In The Governor’s Office, Kasimu Ibrahim, was abducted by bandits last Friday, when they stormed Kunduru village in Kankia Local Government Area Of Katsina State.
Confirming the release, the spokesman of the Katsina Police Command, Gambo Isah, said they are working to ensure that other recently abducted persons regain freedom unhurt.

A close family friend, who also confirmed the release of the monarch, said he is currently in Katsina receiving medical attention, due to his age and ill-health.
It is not clear whether ransom was paid to secure his release, although In recent weeks, the activities of bandits, abducting for ransom have been on the increase.
