The Office of the National Security Adviser has cautioned against the deployment of 5th Generation (5G) Network describing it as a possible threat to National Security.
The Director of Communications, Office of the National Security Adviser, Bala Fakandu gave the warning during an investigative public hearing on the present status of 5th Generation (5G) network in Nigeria and its technological impact by the Senate Joint Committee on Communications, Science and Technology, ICT on Thursday.
Since Nigerians got the hint about the proposed deployment of the 5G network in the country, there have been several theories raising concerns on the adverse effects of the technology.

Minister of Communications Isa Pantami however allayed the fears, saying necessary steps have been taken by the government to ensure everything was in place for the deployment.
Pantami said all that remains is the completion of the draft national policy required to drive the process of deployment in Nigeria.
