Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has cautioned the new Commissioner of Police in the state against involving himself in the politics of the state and instead devote his energy and wealth of experience to the fight against crime

Governor wike who on Friday received Eboka Friday at the Government House, Port Harcourt, also wants the new police chief to be guided by his conscience in whatever he does, stressing that his administration will on its part provide the support needed to keep the state safe from crime.

He takes over from Joseph Mukan who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and redeployed to Zone 8 Headquarters Lokoja as the Zonal Commander.
