Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has nominated 38-year-old Omobayo Marvellous Godwins for appointment as new Deputy Governor following confirmation by House of Assembly.
The appointment of Omobayo Marvellous Godwins is coming after the impeachment of embattled Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu by Edo State House of Assembly.
The vote to impeach Shaibu was taken by lawmakers after the investigation panel set by the State Chief Judge submitted its report on the allegations of misconduct including disclosure of confidential information levelled against Shaibu.
Omobayo Marvellous Godwins who is an Oil and Gas professional with Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering is expected to be sworn-in today at the Government House in Benin City.
Godwins was the 2023 Labour Party, LP Candidate for Akoko Edo Federal Constituency in Edo State.
