Bayelsa state government has received the sum of two hundred million naira from the United Nations Development Programme UNDP, as part of its revitalization project to enhance the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, in the state.

The event took place in government house, Yenagoa, Monday. Governor Douye Diri said the initiative was in line with the state government’s mantra of human capital development and that his administration was prepared to synergize with every development partner.

Tackling unemployment and promoting sustainable economic growth demands unwavering dedication.

This is why a delegation of the United Nations Development Programme was at the Creek Haven to launch the UNDP revitalization project in Bayelsa state.

The UNDP launched the project with two hundred million naira targeted at two thousand beneficiaries for eligible Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.

Governor Douye Diri expressed delight at the partnership, saying it was in line with his administration’s programme of supporting Small scale business owners.

Governor Douye Diri accepted the partnership, noting that it will bring succor to the people.

Equally, the Governor acknowledged the support of the UNDP when Bayelsa was embattled with the devastating flood of 2022, describing the organization as a true friend of the state.
