Zamfara State government has been asked to immediately reopen the recently closed boarding schools in the flashpoints of banditry activities and make adequate arrangements to protect the students and teachers.

A Non- Governmental Organization, Child Protection Network, CPN, Zamfara State Chapter in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Bachiru Sarki Fulanis, called on the abductors of the schoolgirls to unconditionally release the girls.

The organization while commending the Zamfara State Governor for the efforts being made to secure the safe release of the girls, wants the government to review the security strategy especially the ongoing peace accord with the bandits.

It called on the government and security agencies to put a stop to the ugly trend of abduction to save the lives of citizens and their property.

It also said the despicable action of the bandits is an intolerable and unpardonable crime that must be confronted by any responsible government and security agencies to save the lives of students and Nigerians as a whole.
