A prosecution witness has told a Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja, that Omoyele Sowore and four other defendants were arrested in the early hours of the first of January, 2021 for conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and inciting public disturbance.

The witness, a Police Officer, says the defendants were arrested by a team of policemen, at the Lokogoma junction area of Abuja.

Under cross-examination by the counsel for the defendants, Marshal Abubakar, the witness admits that he did not personally arrest Sowore, but he was a member of the team that effected the arrest of all the defendants.

Chief Magistrate Mabel Segun-Bello, before adjourning to the seventh of May, 2021 for the continuation of trial, varied the bail condition of the second to the fifth defendants, by granting them leave to travel outside Abuja until the next adjourned date.
