The Olubadan in- council has nominated Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin as the 43rd Olubadan
With this development, Olakulehin is set to mount the Ibadan throne.
Recall that the Olubadan of Ibadanland, late Oba Olalekan Balogun Alli Okunmade 11 died on March 14, 2024, and since then it has been a ding-dong affair to nominate a new Olubadan.
The council of chiefs met Friday and agree to name Olakunlehin as the next Oba.
Olakunlehin is the most senior ranked chief in the Balogun line of Olubadan chieftaincy Group.
Some the Chiefs in-council had claimed that the Olubadan-designate was not fit to rule because of his ill-health
But Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State had earlier this week clarified that there are no conflicts surrounding the Olubadan stool.
He cautioned individuals who thrive on sowing discord to desist for the good of the state.
