Nigerian Army trains wounded soldiers on Computer repairs and CCTV operations

The Nigerian Army has trained sixty-seven soldiers wounded in action during Operation Lafiya Dole on computer repair, operation, and Closed Circuit Television, CCTV.

The soldiers are expected to be redeployed back to their various units, to offer support in their new areas of expertise, since they may no longer be efficiently fit for combat operations.

According to the Acting Chief Medical Director, 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna, Colonel Augustine Omogbethai, though the training may not completely address the physical and psychological needs of the soldiers, it will certainly make them productive, when they are back to their respective units.

He said that the soldiers are in their prime, and need to be trained on various skills, to be useful to themselves and their families.

The General Officer Commanding, One Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Usman Muhammad, who was represented by Brigadier General Adeleke Ayannuga, urged the soldiers to efficiently utilize the training to achieve excellence.

Fifty of the Wounded in Action soldiers, underwent a four-month intensive training in Computer Repair and Operation, while the remaining seventeen had three months of intensive training in Close Circuit Television, CCTV Operations at the 44 Nigerian Army Physical and Rehabilitation Centre, Kaduna.
