Police in Katsina State have gunned down one suspected bandit in a foiled attack on two villlages in Kankara Area Council of Katsina State.
A statement by the Police spokesman, Gambo Isah, said in the early hours of Saturday, bandits attacked Matsiga and Masaku villages, in Kankara Area Council.
Following the attack and receipt of distress call, the Divisional Police Officer of Kankara led Operation Puff Adder personnel and engaged them in a shootout.

Isah said, as a result, a bandit was killed and a magazine of AK 47 Rifle with 25 ammunition was recovered.
He added that, investigation is still ongoing into the incident.
