The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, says the Federal Government is ready to narrow the gap between seized assets abroad and the actual assets returned to the Nigeria
Malami made this known while delivering his speech at the 14th United Nations Crime Congress in Kyoto held virtually.

He called for International Cooperation in facilitating legal aid for tracing, and returning to Nigeria proceeds of properties seized abroad.
According to the Minister, he said there is a need for the international community to carry out political will in eliminating all barriers to the full implementation of the provisions of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.
He said Nigeria is optimistic that the adoption of the political declaration on crime prevention and criminal justice will incite more action and greater efforts in criminal justice.
