70-year-old man nabbed for raping 14-year-old girl in Katsina

The Police in Katsina have arrested a 70 year old man, Danladi Habibu, for raping a 14 year old hawker girl in the state capital.

The septuagenarian is among the eighteen suspects recently arrested and paraded at the command’s headquarters for various crimes.

Other suspects paraded were involved in cultism, human trafficking, shop and house breaking, theft, among others.

Other rape case suspects include; a 19 year old who raped a 3 year old girl in Bakori Area Council, 24 year old who raped a 15 year old in Katsina Metropolis and a 28 year old who raped a 13 year old girl in Kankara Area Council.

The spokesman of the command, Gambo Isah said, the 70-year-old man lured the 14-year-old girl into an uncompleted building and had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.

Also paraded, is a notorious agent of a human trafficking syndicate, from whom 11 of his victims, comprising 9 females and two males were rescued.

The rescued victims were said to be on their way to Niger Republic, enroute to Europe.

Four other suspects were arrested in possession of fake American dollars, CFA currency and the Nigerian Naira notes, running into millions.

Others include five students of the Federal University Dutsinma, suspected to be involved in two cult groups activities, namely Black axe and Aye.

According to Isah, others paraded include, two suspected social miscreants, otherwise known as “Kauraye”, allegedly terrorising the innocent people of the state, alongside a man arrested with one of his biological sons, who specialized in house and shop breaking, operating in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
