Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has debunked reports in some quarters that the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine has side effects on humans.
Governor Obaseki stated this after he flag-off of the State COVID-19 vaccination exercise at the Government House, Benin City.
He noted that the doses meant for the state will be spread across critical key players and the elderly.

The Governor also called on residents to turn out in their numbers to receive the doses which are relatively safe.
Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, Secretary to Edo Government, Osarodion Ogie, Chief Judge of the State, Esther Edigin, were among top government officials who received the jabs.
Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City, Augustine Akubeze, former President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Felix Omobude, Chairman of Edo as well as the Chief Imam of Benin Central Mosque, Abdulfatah Enabulele, also got the first doses of the vaccine.
The battle against the coronavirus pandemic has been on for roughly one year since the advent of COVID-19 in 2019.
Nigeria has since received 3.92 million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines which have been distributed to states.
