Former Councilors in Niger State have held special prayer session for the Almighty to intervene on their unpaid entitlements that have been lingering for some years.

The former Councillors drawn from the two hundred and seventy-four wards, observed the special prayer session at the state’s secretariat in Minna.

The secretariat along Paiko Road, turned into prayer ground for Muslims and Christians, holding sessions separately.

The Leader of the protesters, Garba Umar, from Usable Ward in Kontagora Local Government Area, said they will pursue their right until they are met.

Their payment agitation bordered on furniture and severance allowances, among others, amounting to the tune of about five million Naira per person.

The former Councillors said, they are ready to lock the secretariat, if there is no positive response from the state government.
