Youths in Amarata, a suburb in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital have foiled an armed robbery attempt and recovered Ten Million Naira cash in the process.

The robbers who operated in a black SUV were said to have shot the tyres of their victim’s car which they trailed from a bank in the area, forcing the vehicle to somersault twice on the road before hitting a tricycle.

The incident created a gridlock and an opportunity for many onlookers to rush to the scene preventing the hoodlums from making away with the money which has since been returned to the bank.

While the bank robbers escaped, persons injured during the failed robbery were later taken to hospital for treatment.
