Reactions have continued to trail Saturday’s reported attack on Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom by gunmen with many taking to their social media handles to express themselves.
Governor Ortom who managed to flee to safety attributes his narrow escape to the tenacity of his security aides and God’s timely intervention which he does not take for granted. This took him to church to appreciate God for sparing his life.
Governor Ortom insists his assailants were Fulani militia sponsored by the major opposition to the State’s Anti-Open Grazing Prohibition Law who recently met in Yola to plan the attack.

Ortom was reportedly ambushed on his farm along Makurdi-Gboko Road on Saturday morning by armed men who are still at large creating widespread panic.
