Zamfara Governor Bello Mohammed has challenged all citizens of the State to swear with the Holy Quran, to prove that they have no iota of involvement in the security challenges bedevilling the State
The Governor threw the challenge while receiving an award, as the Khadimul Qua’ran, conferred on him by the Centre for Qua’ranic Reciter, Nigeria, in Gusau, the State capital.
The Centre said the award was given to Governor Mohammed, based on his contributions to the protection of the Holy Qua’ran and the promotion of Islam.
The Governor who appreciated the award, assured of his administration’s commitment, to address the lingering security challenges bedevilling the State.
He challenged the high and low in the State, as well as his political appointees, to take an oath with the Holy Qua’ran, that they are not connected with the insecurity facing the State.

He stressed that doing so will enable the citizens to know those who are behind the prevailing insecurity, and to ensure peace is restored in Zamfara State.
Governor Mohammed described the insecurity as worrisome, despite efforts to tackle it.
He said as a Chief Security Officer of Zamfara State, he will do everything possible, to provide a secured and peaceful environment for the residents, to go about carrying out their lawful businesses, without fear of anyone harming them.
Governor Mohammed re-emphasises the need for people to come together to confront their common enemies, pointing out that the fight against insecurity is not a one-person affair, but a collective responsibility of all and sundry.
