An Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ado Ekiti on Monday, remanded three suspects in the Ekiti State Correctional facility for alleged murder during last Saturday’s Ekiti East Bye elections into the State House of Assembly, where two persons were confirmed dead.
The defendants are Adenijo Olushola 36, Paul Folorunsho 45, and Adebayo Serifat 40.
The suspects are facing a three- count charge of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder and murder.
The State Director of Public Prosecutor , ASP Julius Ajibare offered to take over the case in accordance with Section 2 of the Ekiti State Constitution.
The suspects in an affidavit in support of the remand by the police were charged for conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, and murder of Babatunde Adeleye and Bola Adebisi on March 22.
The DPP told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 22 at Omuo Ekiti.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr.Abdulamid Lawal who did not take the pleas of the defendants, ordered that they be remanded at the Ekiti State correctional center, Ado Ekiti, pending legal advice from the State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The case was adjourned till April 19, 2021.
