The Kaduna State House of Assembly has declared the seat of former speaker of the house, Aminu Shagali, member Representing Sabon Gari Constituency vacant.
The decision was taken at Tuesday plenary following the former speaker’s absence from all assembly activities for more than one year without any reason.
Following the decision at the plenary presided over by the deputy speaker of the assembly, Dr. Auta Zankai, the Clerk, Zubairu Rigachikun has been directed to communicate same to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in order to announce a date for a bye-election.

The house also suspended four members of the assembly, Yusuf Liman, representing Makera constituency, Isah Hazo Basawa constituency, Nuhu Shadalafiya Kagarko constituency and Salisu Isa representing Magajin Gari for 12months.
