The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has expressed serious concern, over the worsening poverty level in the country.
Briefing State House correspondents after the meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said that the council took note of the worrisome situation and approved the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy policy to tackle the menace.

Adesina said that Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, is to chair the Steering Committee of the new policy, to provide the overall guidance for implementation.
The council, Adesina said, also approved the strategic incorporation into the medium-term national development plan 2021-2025 and agenda 2050 and directed the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to prepare a bill for submission to the National Assembly, for the sustainability of the implementation strategy.
