The threat is contained in a Press Release signed by the Chairman of the Niger State wing of theNigeria Union of Teachers, Ibrahim Umar.
The Union has resolved to embark on the industrial action, unless the Niger State Government resolves the lingering issues affecting members of the Union.Issues raised by the Nigeria Union of Teachers include, non-implementation of thirty thousand Naira minimum wage for Primary School Teachers on grade level seven and above; Non-payment of four months salary of newly recruited Primary School Teachers; Non-implementation of Teachers Salary Structure for Professional and non Professional Teachers and the non-implementation of promotion for Teachers in both Primary and Secondary Schools.
The union however says it is still ready to negotiate with the government to resolve the issues amicably.
