Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri has ascribed the upsurge of insecurity plaguing the Nigerian state to the politicization of the security structure and other issues that have compounded over the years.
Governor Diri stated this when he played host to the new flag officer commanding the Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Obi Egbuchulam on Tuesday in Government House Yenagoa.

With the worsening insecurity situation and its dire consequences on all Nigerians, the Governor and the security chief shared their resolve in ensuring that crime and criminality do not have safe haven in and around Bayelsa State.
