The FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, says the Command has put in place measures to ensure that the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, is safe and secure from the activities of Boko Haram elements and the bandits.
Bala’s reaction followed the rumoured invasion of Bwari Area Council in the FCT by bandits and the confirmation by the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, that Boko Haram elements have hoisted their flag at Kaure town in the state, about two hours drive from Abuja.

Schools in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja were advised by the Divisional Police Officer to scale down on activities and remain vigilant.
The law school in Bwari remains open contrary to reports that it was closed down over fears of rising insecurity.
There has, however, been apprehension over Abuja as rumours of the sighting of some bandits in motorbikes and camelbacks envelopes the city.
