The Niger State Government has banned Sallah ceremonies and festivities for the forthcoming Ed-El-fitr.
The State Government in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government Ahmad Matane said the measure is part of efforts by the State government to curtail the activities of criminal elements.

The statement further called on members of the public to comply with the directive as government will deal with any person who flouts the order.
It advised the people to use the Sallah celebration period to pray for the State and the country.
