The Police in Osun State have arrested eight members of people it describes as high-profile, serial kidnapping syndicate at Omo Ijesa village in the state.
The suspects were arrested on 7th May, sequel to credible intelligence on a case of the kidnap of a 65-year-old, Akiishi Catherine in Benue State.
The operation was led by the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, Olawale Olokode.
Confirming the arrest, the Public Relations Officer, Osun State Command, Yemisi Opalola said, before the arrest, Police investigations had revealed that the suspects relocated to Osun State after the kidnap of the woman, as a deceptive tactic, to avoid arrest in Benue State.

She added that the suspects have also planned to use Osun State as a haven for the negotiation and collection of ransom, even after murdering the woman in cold blood.
The suspects also revealed to the Police team how they have murdered three other victims in their previous operations.
The suspects would be handed over to the Benue State Police Command as soon as preliminary investigations are concluded.
The CP, while commending his men for a job well done, reassured citizens that there will be no hiding place for criminals in the state.
