The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has signed into law, bills establishing the Imo Security Organisation and the Geographical Information Service.
Signing the bills at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, Owerri, Uzodinma said that the new laws are to assist in the maintenance of law and also to regulate the land usage.

He said that the state has witnessed high-level security challenges, hence the need for measures to combat them.
The bill the first of its kind in the state is to assist the security agencies in the maintenance of law and order.
Governor Uzodinma also explained the need for the Imo Geographical Information Service and commended the State House of Assembly, for being proactive on the matters.
Uzodinma then assured Imo residents, that the new bills will restore peace in the state.
