A proposed building to house the Accident and Emergency Complex at the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia, Abia State, still under construction has collapsed.
No casualty is reported as workers at the construction site were reported to have closed for the day before the structure came crumbling.
The two-storey building which construction work has been ongoing since 2019 was at the roofing stage when the incident occurred.
The Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Darlington Madubuko, told ait.live in Umuahia that the building site had remained active over the years, but could not give explanation on the possible cause of the collapse
