A technical vendor died while his colleague sustained serious injuries when gas exploded inside the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
According to a statement from the management of the library, the explosion occurred at about 11am at the main event marquee of the complex when a pair of technical vendors were conducting routine servicing of the air conditioning units.
All the visitors at the presidential library, including pupils at a school close by and guests at a resort were safe during the incident.

The emergency response team from the library prevented the fire from spreading to other areas and causing damages while the injured technician was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the complex has been cordoned off by security operatives preventing visitors from gaining entry into the complex.
