The Interior Minister appealed for the provision of credible intelligence to security operatives, to enable them to address the security challenges facing the country.

Governor Aminu Masari who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Inuwa, expressed optimism that the establishment of the women squad, will greatly assist in combating the rate of kidnappings, especially at schools.

The Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmad Audi, announced that the recent rise and frequent attacks by bandits on schools, who abduct students for ransom, made it imperative for the Corps to focus attention on intensifying security in the school environments.

He said it will serve as a preventive measure, towards guaranteeing safety, and restoring the confidence of students, parents, teachers, and the community, in the country’s security architecture.

A total of seventy-six special female squad had undergone four weeks of training, on various aspects in combating and repelling attacks, rescuing victims of kidnap, assembling and dissembling weapons, gun shooting, and routine patrol, among others.
