After Forty-Eight hours in captivity, the National President of IJAW Youths Council, IYC, Peter Igbifa, has regained his freedom and immediately join the ongoing protest led by the association.
The IYC National Leader, who spoke to journalists in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, said that he was released at a forest in the Kiama community of Kolokuma Opokuma Local Government Area of the State.

The protesters have continued to occupy the Mbiama axis of the ever-busy East-West Road, when the National President of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC arrived at the scene of the protest.
The IYC leader who was reportedly kidnapped Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, expressed support for the on going protest and blockade of the Yenagoa office of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC demanding the Constitution of its governing board.
In the face of Ijaw Youth Council protest and agitation, the Presidency is yet to respond to the situation as most Nigerians continue to suffer and lose manhours travelling on the East-West Road.
