The Ijaw National Congress, INC, has thrown its weight behind the protest embarked on by its youth wing, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, over the continued absence of a substantive board for the Niger-Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
The group said the absence of a substantive board for the NDDC is unacceptable, stressing that the intervention agency can no longer be a “one man show”.

The INC National President, Benjamin Okaba, endorsed the protests, tagged ‘ Mother of Protests’ as the Bayelsa/Central Zone of the IYC vowed that the ‘divide and rule tactics of those opposed to the reconstitution of the NDDC Board will not work.
Ijaw youths have in the last two days of protest shutdown the state office of the NDDC, blocking the East-West road and leaving many travelers stranded.
Speaking, Chairman, IYC Central Zone, Clever Inodu, insisted that the resolve of his members remain unshaken.
