The Catholic Bishop of Idah Diocese, Most Reverend Anthony Adaji, has called for peace in Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State, with an appeal to those perpetrating crimes against the people to return to God.
Bishop Adaji who said this at a prayer rally organized by the Catholic Church of Idah Diocese, Kogi State, wants Government to extend social amenities to the people whom he said are facing social injustice.
Bassa Land in Kogi State is said to have been under attacks over the years, a development which scares the people from living in their ancestral land, making the once peaceful agrarian land a shadow of itself.
Worried by this sad development, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese Idah, Anthony Adaji gathered priests, religious and members of the diocesan family to pray for Bassa land and their first port of call was the palace of the Aguma of Bassa Land.

The large congregation was led by Bishop Anthony Adaji on reciting twenty decades of the Holy Rosary, celebrating the Holy Mass which is meant to cleanse the land, reconciling the people, and brokering lasting peace.
With a call on government to beef up security in Bassa Land, the local Ordinary sends warning to those warming up to cause trouble in the land.
The need for social justice, good parental upbringing and responsible leadership was also advocated by some Priests and Religious groups as the catalyst for Peace and development.
