Owerri, the Imo State capital experienced partial compliance with the sit-at-home order by the leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples Of Biafra, IPOB in remembrance of Biafra’s fallen heroes.

Most of them, soldiers who lost their lives during the Nigeria-Biafra civil war between 1967 and 1970.

When ait.live visited Some of the streets in owerri, the imo state capital, almost all the markets and shops were under lock and key.

Although the order is to be observed on 30th and 31st May 2021, some people who spoke to our crew said they decided to stay away because of fear of the unknown.

The government had earlier directed all Imo residents to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation.

The recent security situation have imposed more responsibilities on security agencies as they are expected to deploy professionalism in their rules of engagement.
