The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA says, President Muhammadu Buhari’s six years in office have provided policies to fast track the development and international practice for the aviation sector.

Speaking in Abuja to mark the second year anniversary of Buhari’s second term in office, the Director General, Nuhu Musa, said that the enabling environment has increased the number of private airlines in Nigeria, thereby making it competitive, for quality services.

Musa says, the National Carrier’s air operation may soon be concluded in 2022, as the paper work are at the final stages for approval.

Regarding the low number of pilots and engineers in the sector, the NCAA boss urged state governments to sponsor the poor in their various states to study aviation, as many cannot afford the fees.

Responding to the Military air crash, The DG explained that the Authority is in the process of developing a platform, where the Authority’s operations and that of the military interface coordinate for efficiency and safety.

He also believes that the public-partnership policy will help to speed up the development of the aviation sector, to meet up with international best practices, especially in the area of services for air passengers.
