The Constitution Review Public Hearing for three North-eastern states, Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba got underway in Yola, the Adamawa State capital
Declaring the two-day public hearing open, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, commended the process and càlled on Nigerians to use the medium to express their views.
Top of the agenda at the public hearing was the vexed issues of local government autonomy, thirty per cent inclusion of women in governance and the independence of the judicial and legislative arms of the government.

Other areas of concern raised by participants from the three states were the incorporation of the electoral act in the constitution, retention of labour matters on the exclusive legislative list and the creation of more states.
The chairman assured the participants at the public hearing that their views will be looked into by the national assembly.
