University Student Abduction: Edo Police Command Arrest Three Suspects For Kidnapping, Murder

The Edo State Police Command has emphasised the need for parents to be vigilant and cautious about their surroundings.

The commissioner of police Funsho Adegboye gave the advice during the parade of a 26-year-old self proclaimed native doctor, Chukwuyem Jonah and two others for the alleged kidnapping and killing of Faith Omodon, a 200-level student of Delta State University, Agbor, Delta State.

On March thirty, 2024, Edward Omodon of Iru Egbede community in Orhionmwon local government area of Edo State reported the sudden disappearance of his daughter, a business administration student of Delta state university, Faith Omodon after she left for the family’s farmland at Ewemon community riding on her father’s motorcycle.

Two suspects were subsequently arrested in connection with her disappearance by operatives of the Edo state police command.

According to the commissioner of police Funsho Adegboye, their arrest was made possible after a discreet and technical investigation leading to the arrest of twenty three year old Godspower Chukwuedo and twenty two year old Christopher Nwachukwu.

CP Adegboye says their confessional statements led to the arrest of twenty six year old Chukwuyem Jonah who is alleged to have contracted the duo to kidnap her for ransom.

Christopher Nwachukwu, a farmer based in Agbor, admitted to the crime saying that he was contracted by Godspower Chukwuedo, a bricklayer based in Benin City, for the job while the native doctor Jonah Chukwuyem dissociated himself from the crime committed.

CP Adegboye assured of through investigation after which the trio will be charged to court.
