The Nigeria Police Council meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari, has Friday confirmed the appointment of Usman Baba as the Inspector General of Police.
Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, made this known at the end of the one and half hour meeting, said the confirmation was a unanimous decision.



President Buhari had on April 6, appointed Usman Baba as acting the Inspector General of Police.

The Minister said Buhari directed him to ensure insecurity is reduced to the barest minimum.
Baba was a Deputy Inspector-General of Police before his promotion.
