Plateau State Government is putting measures in place to ensure that the state has a bumper harvest this year to put an end to the food shortage being witnessed in the country.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang made this known during the flag-off of the distribution of assorted food items from the national strategic reserve to vulnerable people in the state.

The prevailing economic challenges in the country are no doubt taking their toll on Nigerians. To reduce the hash economic impact, the Federal Government approved the release of grains from the strategic grain reserves to be distributed to the most vulnerable members of society. It is in fulfillment of this promise that the National Emergency Management Agency is in the Plateau state Government House to flag off the distribution in Plateau state.
The Plateau State Governor, while appreciating the President for the gesture, announced that the state government is providing additional 26 thousand 25-kg bags of rice to be distributed alongside the federal government intervention.
For the beneficiaries, the gesture wouldn’t have come at a better time than this considering the current hardship being experienced in the country.
The distribution committee will have members drawn from the police, EFCC, faith-based organizations, civil society, and a host of other interest groups.
