Bandits abduct students from Federal College in Kebbi State

Gunmen

Gunmen have attacked Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, in Ingaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State, killing one policeman and leaving two students with gunshot injuries.

The gunmen stormed the school at 12 pm Thursday, and abducted and unspecified number of students.

Federal Government College where the incident occurred is a mixed school for boys and girls.

The gunmen snatched a bus in Birnin Yauri, which they used to convey their captives away to undisclosed location.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has come from the state government.

Efforts to get the Commissioner of Police or the Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi State Police command were unsuccessful, as they were not responding to telephone calls put across to them.
