The Ebonyi State Police Command, South East Nigeria, has made an offer to persons or groups in the State who are in possession of weapons either stolen from security agencies or illegally acquired, to return same to appropriate authorities and be granted amnesty.
This is coming from the State Commissioner of police, Aliyu Garba during the parade of over sixty suspects arrested in various parts of the state for alleged offences ranging from conspiracy, illegal arms possession, murder, armed robbery, the recent attacks on security agencies and their facilities.

Also displayed to Journalists at the Police headquarters in Abakaliki were dozens of assorted arms and ammunitions, charms and live creatures among other items which the security operatives claim were recovered from criminal suspects.
The Police Commissioner says the suspects were nabbed and items recovered in the last few weeks of their crime fighting efforts through operational strategies put in place to achieve the goals of Operation Restore Peace as inaugurated by the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman
One of the suspects, a seventeen year old Daniel Elom, arrested on suspicion of partaking in some of the recent attacks on security agencies in Ebonyi State, admitted that he specialized in drawing the map of any planned area to be attacked by his group before execution.
