The 70 Senior Non-Commission Officers at the graduation ceremony were drawn from the different corps of the Nigerian Army.
For 22 weeks, they had undergone training in leadership and management, that will enable them to interpret and communicate command decisions effectively.
The Chief of Army Staff, who was represented by the Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Major General Kabiru Mukhtar, charged the SNCOs to apply the knowledge acquired for the benefit of the Nigerian Army, especially now that the country is faced with myriads of security challenges.
The Commandant of the Warrant Officers’ Academy, Brigadier General Olusegun Abai, said the course curriculum of the training was reviewed to be mission inclined, given the country’s current security challenges.
The Warrant Officers’ Academy was established in 1994, to rejuvenate the Senior Non-Commission Officers cadre of the Nigerian Army, which was then observed to be lagging in professional standards.
