The Nasarawa State Government has signed two Memorandum of Understanding with two communities in the state to commence the development of a smart city housing project.

Nasarawa state Governor, Abdullahi Sule said this while signing the agreement between Kabusu and Gurku communites in Karu Local Government Area of the State

The smart city housing project is in two phases, one of the phases follows the withdrawal of a court case that was instituted by some individuals stopping the project initially while the other is a development agreement for the commencement of the work in the area.

For Governor Abdullahi Sule the initiative will present more opportunities for the state to meet it’s vision for developing the state

Sule noted that his administration is keen on providing the enabling environment for socio-economic development in the state as he gave credit to his predecessor, Senator Tanko Almakura for the vision of the Gurku-Kabusu smart city, maintaining that it is a dream that is worthy of pursuit.
Apart from highlighting the benefits, the Governor explained that the project is design for highbrow, middle and low income earners.
Esu Karu Pharmacist, Luka Baba and other Traditional Rulers appreciated the Governor for his commitment towards implementing projects that have a positive impact on the lives of the people.
The support of the host community towards the success of the project was also given by the leaders.
